Day Yu

Day Yu, born in Taiwan and graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Normal University in 1962. She then studied at l’Ecole National Superiuere des Beaux Arts and Atelier 17 in Paris.
Day’s primary painting medium is watercolor or acrylics on various papers such as silk and canvas. She had a unique method of applying layers of ink and watercolor on silk. Through her mountains, waterfalls, valleys, and flowers with birds, she unfolded a personal vision of feminine softness and spiritual charm, evoking a feeling of boundless space and supreme harmony.

Day’s paintings had been exhibited in Taiwan and throughout the United States. She had won numerous awards and many private collections.
